Again, it has been quite a while since I have taken the time to update everyone with my Asian adventure. I will now attempt to do so in installments and will try to limit the pictures to only the best.
As if the exchange students needed an excuse to go out on the town, a few ambitions ladies set up a ‘photo scavenger hunt’ and named it: “Hunting the Kong,” which turned out to be a ravaging success (in my humble opinion). The instructions led us to take photos of such things as us singing with locals, posing in shop windows, and a male team member in a dress (I was the only male member of my team). I have some evidence of our team’s triumphant victory in the accompanying photo section. This collage of photos also includes the horse races, pre-, during, and post-finals parties, Sam’s last night in town, and the last picture my Canon A530 ever took (it was a good night, and the camera had served me well.... it is in a better place now.)
During this time we all made the best of the time that we had left with each other. We all seemed to share an interesting air of melancholy camaraderie in which we all appreciated each others company in a different way, knowing that many of us will never see each other again, and some of us may not even have the chance to say goodbye (and goodbye to those of you whom I will not cross paths with again). It was a bittersweet experience, and we all knew/know that everyone that we met during the semester made it as special as it was, and that the whole adventure was, in a way, a collective one and everyone played their part beautifully to make it what it was. I am sure most everyone feels this way, but since I can only speak for myself... this has been a period of my life that I will never forget... THANK YOU to all of you out there that I had the pleasure of becoming acquainted with. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. (It still holds that the first one to make 5-10M+ Euro GETS to fly everyone back for a reunion tour of Lan Kwai Fong.)
