Yesterday I took a tour to Po Toi and Lamma Islands via boat. It took just over an hour to get to Po Toi, where we took a hike around the island to see some very nice views (see pictures). We then took another hour boat ride to Lamma Island where we had another (better) Dim Sum lunch and took another little walk around the bay. This tour ended with a cruise through the busy Victoria harbor.
In the evening the whole crew that was on the tour (about 30 international students) went out to ladies night at ‘Skitz’ in Wan Chai (which is known for its girlie bars). Once at this place we found that many of the international students from Hong Kong University (different school) were also celebrating ladies night. The bar was full of people, four of which were locals. The ease of meeting new people in these sorts of situations is amazing!
Todays tour took us around Hong Kong Island to a temple, “Cat St.”, the Jumbo restaurant, another Dim Sum lunch with Peking Duck, and finally the Hong Kong Science Museum. The museum is dedicated to portraying the history of Hong Kong for the last 400,000,000 years. I am not much for museums and I found it interesting to see the factors that shaped Hong Kong from its geological formations to its current political state (Special Administrative Region).
